To the market we go

The sound of laughing children and conversations between other people filled Zaira's ears as she walked in the alley's.She knew if she walked on the main streets the guards would notes her and send her back to the castle.Zaira also wasn't a hard person to spot among the crowed.Her bright reddish hair made her stand out and her clothes weren't as tacky as the peasants that walked on the street.Thanks to her life among the vampires in the castle,Zaira wasn't allowed to walk out onto the streets unless she had a escort by her side.

obelix walked through the crowded market enjoying the sun on his hair. he took a bite of an apple he bought from a stall a ways back. the crisp skin crunching in his mouth as some of the juices ran down his chin. Obelix wiped the juice from his chin with his sleeve taking another bite of his apple.

Zaira peaked at the markets on the main street and looked for any guards that might be on the street.She sighed, right next to the market was a guard.Many of the peasants on the street couldn't probably tell what the guards looked like,seeing that visitors from over city's that were probably in the middle class had the same type of clothes as the guards.Such as hunters,Merchants,and etc.

Obelix turned towards an alley bumping into a guard as he walked. "sorry sir i didn't mean to," he apologized and kept walking. the crowd around him began to get thicker as it got closer to noon. people were finally arriving from the farms outside the village to trade their goods.

Zaira pulled up her hood to hide her face and walked into the thick crowd towards the market.Hopefully none of the guards would be able to realize who she was.Once she had gotten closer she had realized that the guards were no longer near the market,instead they were separating two angry people from fighting.Seeing her chance,Zaira walked over to the merchants that was selling fruit.

Obelix heard the fighting behind him and hurried his pace. As he walked he bumped into a person wearing a hood knocking them over. "Im sorry about that." He said and helped her up. "I wouldn't go into the market right now it looks a little dangerous and the guards are likely to show a little force to calm the crowd down." He said offering his advice.

Zaira was competently shocked at the pressure that had knocked her down.Dang it she thought,once she realized that her hood had folded back,revealing her face and hair."Thank you." She replied and dusted herself off.Zaira glanced around for any guards as the boy continued to talk.Her eyes grew wide as she realized that a guard was walking towards them."Thanks for the advice,but I most be taking my leave now." She said putting her hood back up before running into the crowd.

ok now what if she goes in there shes gonna get hurt but is it my problem? screw it i'm going after her besides she was pretty cute, obelix thought. he turned around and chased after her. he pushed through the crowd looking for her.

Zaira slipped out of the crowd and back towards the alleys.She continued to go through the alley until she found a small space between two buildings,where she pressed her back against one of the walls and walked sideways until she came across a door with a sign above it.Zaira sighed and pulled down her hood before she opened the door and walked in.

obelix saw the girl duck into the alley. he quickly followed her. pushing his way through the crowded street trying to avoid the fights breaking out in groups in the streets. when he got to the alley he found no trace of the girl.

Zaira closed the door behind her and glanced around at the people around her.She had walked into a secret bar that hid outcasts,werewolves,runaways,and thieves.This place was a safe haven for those that were not welcomed into the kingdom.Zaira walked over to the counter and sat down."Hey Zaira,long time no see."The bartender said.

obelix heard a door shut and turned in time to see the girl walking through the door. he hurried to the door and walked inside. as he stepped into the bar he looked around recognizing a few friends from around town that had been in street gangs. he turned and saw the girl sitting at the bar and made his way over to her.

"Hey Markis, is Sam here today?"She replied and looked up at him.Markis was you every day man.Tall,messy brown hair,and brown eyes,the only thing that wasn't normal about him was a large scar under his right eye.Markis was a man of many secrets and liked to keep to himself,most of the time.Markis chuckled roughly."His up stairs.I swear that man never comes down,the only thing he does is waist space." He said.Zaira smiled at his words,knowing all to well that they weren't true.

Obelix sat down next to the girl "running through that crowd was not the smartest thing i have ever seen,". obelix looked at her admiring her features. he was careful not to stare for to long. "most people try to leave before the crowd gets there but most dont make it and get caught until the crowd dies down," He said.

Zaira glanced at the boy sitting next to her, realizing that it was the boy that had ran into her."Well its not very nice running into someone and getting them in trouble."She replied.Markis looked at the boy questioningly before glancing at Zaira with a curious face."Do you know him?" He asked while drying a glass in his hand."No, he just bumped into me on the street and it looks like he followed me two." She replied.Markis gave the boy a weird look and continued to work."ok, dont be afraid to tell me if he gives you any problems."

"dont worry i have more respect for women than some knights do," Obelix said to the bartender. "also could i get a glass of water please?" Obelix asked pulling a few coins from his pocket. the bartender brought him the water and took the coins. "thank you," Obelix said.

Zaira rolled her eyes and glanced the opposite way from the boy."Can I have a Barbera please Markis."She asked.Markis smiled and brought her a glass with a dark red liquid in it."Why cant it ever be beer or just water,Zaira?" He replied.Zaira laughed."If I ever had beer Sam would be in heaven,thanking the gods, and I like something with taste.That's why I dont drink beer or water." Markis chuckled and shook his head."I guess your right, and dont worry about paying,its on me."

obelix sat there sipping at his water feeling unwanted. "so who is this sam fellow?" obelix asked the girl. he turned towards her and waited for her response.

Zaira turned her head towards the boy to to reply."Sam is the owner of the bar."She said and took a sip of the dark red liquid in her cup.Markis chuckled and leaned on the counter."He's got a thing for miss Zaira over here."Markis said and pointed at Zaira with his thumb.Zaira glared at Markis and put her cup down."I dont care if that man does have a thing for me,he cant get everything he wants."Markis chuckled."I wouldn't say that,Sam would go against the king and queen themselves just to save you."

"ok," obelix said. so her names zaira obelix thought. he stretched his arms out. he finished his water off and sat the glass back down.

"Aww cant you be nice to me for once,Zaira?" Someone said behind them.Zaira turned around and smiled."About time you show up Sam." Zaire replied towards a boy with black spiky hair,that almost covered his eyes,and bright blue eyes.Sam glanced towards the boy sitting next to Zaira."Who's the boy?"

"my names obelix," obelix said extending his hand to shake sam's. so this is sam he thought.

Sam looked at Obelix questioningly and made no attempt to remove his hands from his pockets.Zaira rolled her eyes."He doesn't shake."She said and took another sip from her cup.Sam smiled at her words."Only for you Zaira."He replied.Zaira ignored him and turned around towards Markis.Sam glanced back towards Obelix."So kid, what are you doing here?" He asked curiously.

obelix lowered his hand. "waiting for the crowd to die down outside," he said. obelix stood up "well i should probably get going now." obelix stood up and began to head for the door.

Zaira turned around and stood up."I'll come with you."Sam glanced at Zaira as she stood up and grabbed Obelix's shoulder roughly before he could pass by him.Sam glanced at Obelix from the corner of his eyes."One more thing kid.Tell anyone about this place and your head will be mine." He said darkly.Zaira pulled Sam's hand off of Obelix's shoulder gently."No need to be rough Sam,I think he gets it."Zaira replied softly,making Sam's muscles relax.
